ESSA, Perkins V and WIOA all require programs to prepare students and participants for success in the workplace. The laws require programs and services to help students and participants engage in learning for career success and advancement. All three statues allow, and in some cases require, states to establish performance indicators that include success in life, such as securing employment, improving job skills and earning family-sustaining wages.
